At the VivaTech, Positive AI shared with visitors the reasons for its creation, explained its governance and the various tools already offered and still to come, such as the label. These encounters took place both from the association's own dedicated stand in space belonging to Orange, a founding company of Positive AI, and in the Viva Lounge of Microsoft and consulting firm EY, which assisted Positive AI with the construction of an auditable reference framework.
The first two days of the show were full of conversations and interactions, demonstrating once again the growing awareness of those who work with data on a daily basis, and shedding light on their questions about how to actually apply ethical AI within their company.
« We are getting very positive feedback from companies for the solutions we offer at Positive AI. The practical tools developed for Responsible AI and the meetings for sharing best practices answer to a real need on the ground, which is reinforced by the arrival of European regulations and the acceleration of innovation in AI. Positive AI was designed by and for AI players to foster innovation. But innovation and ethics are intimately linked and we at Positive AI are convinced that one cannot succeed without the other. »
Philippe Streiff, General Representative of Positive AI
On the last day, Malakoff Humanis, also a founding member of the initiative, organized a round table entitled "AI and data serving healthcare prevention: towards medicine without doctors?"
Stéphane Barde, Chief Data and Digital Director of the mutual insurance company, asked the panel whether, in their opinion, AI was rather an opportunity or a threat for doctors and their patients. There was unanimous agreement on the opportunities that this technology represents for the sector – early diagnosis, easier access to information, lever for overcoming medical deserts, etc. – but they also emphasized the risks it poses.
"AI is moving faster than regulation, but regulation is necessary in order to limit the risks," said Emmanuel Bacry, Scientific Director of the French Health Data Hub, on stage.
Faced with the growing challenges of data in all sectors of society and the forthcoming entry into force of the IA Act, scheduled for the end of 2024, Positive AI's mission is to support all companies in the implementation of trusted AI within their organization. If you weren't able to come to the VivaTech show to discuss this with the Positive AI teams, contact us so that we can arrange a chat very soon.
